MD FOI, FOII, MD FFII, MD EMT-B, EVOC, Pump Operator, numerous other Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute classes/seminars, many Firehouse Expo and FDIC hands-on classes/seminars, some NFA online training, to be continued......
About Me:
I moved to Laurel while still in the Army and totally lucked out in joining the LVFD. I've been a line officer for over five years and am currently a live-in member. I've been EXTREMELY fortunate to also be a hands-on instructor at both Firehouse Expo and FDIC, teaching "Calling the MAYDAY!", with Dr Burt Clark.
I've been interested in firefighting since I was a kid. Emergency! had a lot to do with my interest as well.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
No two days are ever the same and not everyone can do what I do.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Seatbelt use on apparatus, funding/ providing ALL departments with the equipment and training to do the job SAFELY and continuing to change the MAYDAY mindset of firefighters.

Well to tell you the truth, I may be a free agent soon since Marlboro VFD is selling station 45. Some folks have said just go to 20 but I have never felt welcomed there in the 15 years I have been a member of Marlboro VFD. Maybe I'll travel north sometime and do a ride along.
