Relationship Status:
Married
Why I Joined Fire/EMS
It was a long time desire to be in the service. Always that deep pang inside. So setting up FD tours for homeschool groups across Texas was really eating at me... we were spending a lot of time with FD's and I got closer to my own dept here in UC. I met a veteran firefighter/medic (37 years in) that I became close friends with and he was my "lightbulb" that I could do this dream. I love helping people and taking care of or "mothering" people. I'm an adrenaline junkie too so that fits right in! LOL
Why I Love Fire/EMS
Feeling like I can make a difference in someones life. (Is "ALL THE COOL SHIT WE GET TO PLAY WITH" an appropriate answer too???)
Top Issues Facing Responders:
*death
*changing materials in construction and vehicles
*changing fuels
*violence against the service
Check out the some of the Groups, I have started up "Close Calls" an area to tell your story of what you did and should not of so others learn. "Roll Calls" this is another group that allows you to tell us about your station and district. "Trainers Corner" is another area that you can read about issues other trainers have or deal with. As well if your not a trainer you can ask questions or state concerns you have. If you have a hard time locating them just go to my site and look at the bottom left hand corner.
My Safe will be as of tomorrow heading up north for a week of fishing with the boys. Only fire I will be fighting is the camp fire. Trying to get dinner cooked! We have had enough fires around here, just finished a nasty bush fire... So need a vacation!
Take care and don't work to hard...
