Other Past or Current Departments and Organizations
Woodbridge Emergency Squad, Perth Amboy First Aid Squad, Perth Amboy Volunteer Fire Department
My Training:
IFSAC/PROBOARD Firefighter I & II, IFSAC/PROBOARD Fire Instructor I & II, PA State Vehicle Rescue Technician, PA State EMT-B, Haz Mat Technician, Incident Safety Officer, NIMS (multiple levels), Foam Firefighting Technician, Basic High Angle Rescue I & II, Confined Space Rescue
About Me:
I've been involved with the Emergency Services for about 18 years now between NJ & PA, just completed Firefighter II certification. I actually should be dead for the actions I have taken in a fire. They were not the smartest thing I did. Now, I still fight aggressively, but with more knowledge of my surroundings & the telltale signs of problems. I will never put or ask anyone to go into a situation that I wouldn't do.
When I was about 2 years old, I had to have my eyes operated on to strengthen the muscles. When I returned home from the hospital, my cousin who was a career firefighter with PAFD drove the brand new Snorkel 1 to my house for me to see. That put the spark in me. When my father was diagnosed with cancer 20 years ago, I wanted to do all I could for him. I first joined a rescue squad, then a second one & eventually joined the fire department. Since then, I have dedicated my life to saving others.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
being in the right place at the right time to help someone who needs it.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
recruiting & retaining serious volunteers. I also believe that alcohol does not have a place in the station nor on scene. We all like to party & have a good time, but why put yourself or someone else in harm's way while under the influence. let's use some common sense out there!
Great pictures - my department just purchased two new trucks and I was wondering if I could get any help from you about the process your department used to dedicate them. I'm looking to do this - but as yet have been unable to find out much about the process - except pictures.
Welcome to the Trainers Corner, this is a place for Trainers to suggest or make comments on what areas of training required. Or what they enjoy! Offer suggestions or examples. Please post questions or suggestions.
Check out Roll Call Forum and put some info about your Fire House in... Like to hear what your station is like, what you have as well as for number for firefighters as well as number of calls. Pass it around to your Firefighter Friends too....
Thank you, I really appreciate that...it has been only the prayers of my firends and family and total trust in God that has kept me going these last 12 months...I miss FF and EMS more than anything, but am confident that God has a plan, I just gotta be patient...not my biggest strength!!!
Well its been something that I have wanted to do for a long time and finally am getting resource to hopefully do it. Its all in the beginning stages so im pretty excited. I just want it to be all fire and dedications stuff. Nothing else.

It is one reason I joined the Board so I can at least be apart of the decision making process.
You be careful yourself {my biggest risks are at home with the horses...LOL...just getting over broken arm}
Board members don't see much action but I would be called into drive or run a pump if we had another wildland fire...and the need was there.
