Looks like mistakes were made by both sides. The bloggers made no attempt (at least on video) to help the downed man, while EMS was more concerned with being filmed than actually helping their pt. I understand how it's sometimes easy to miss something, especially if the address given is vague, but generally you need to exit your vehicle and look around a little! Besides, Chicago is like it's own country with it's own rules. Does anyone know when this incident took place? I don't remember ever hearing about it. Stay safe!

Y'know, it's hard enough in this job to deal with John Q. Public without rabble rousers muddying the waters with inflammatory "blogging"---it's BS

Anthony5000 keep in mind this is not my video. I do not know the guys that filmed it. I only found it on the internet, and thought it would spark up some conversation.

They were in the wrong and didnot clearly or Identification on them as to them being "press" or "reporters" had they displayed press passes they would have been left alone and let's not forget pt. confidentiality this is not a delayed filmming edited by true professonals this is an attempt to embarass and humiliate EMS,FIRE,POLICE,and public servants in general you see this all the time . if you are not going to help then don't make judgements and for the record no one should standby and let someone lay there why didin't they call out to the ems unit when it stoped the first time???????

My thoughts exactly. One other thing I noticed was these bloggers stood there waiting for EMS to arrive, and I didn't see them trying to help this man, they were more interested in filming.

Honestly
i dont think anyone was in the right here.

The ALS unit who passed up the first time and did not do a complete search at the address was defiantly wrong, but the bloggers were in the wrong as well.

A) they were filming without consent or permit
B)The Bloggers also have to realize one thing, its called scene safety, and the paramedics were doing what they were trained to do. you have no idea who these people are, they have no form of identifying themselves as the press and as messed up as society is today, they could have been there to do something horrible to medics and catch it on tape. when it is all said and done, the medics were doing the evaluation of scene security.
C) I bet any amount of money that it wasn't the 1st time the medics saw him that week for the same situation.

staggered, the man was drunk, and there was not full detail into what was actually wrong with "Scotty". if he signed off that he did not need medical assistances , he's a free man and can drunkly stumble his little heart out.

but when it comes down to it
it is all about scene safety and security and those medics applied what they have learned.
