MIDDLETOWN TWP 4TH ALARM APARTMENT BUILDING 7-16-12

Middletown Twp, Pa. - A 4th alarm was struck overnight for a massive blaze that destroyed multiple units in a 3 story apartment building. Chief-21 arrived on scene to 100 Harpers Crossing with heavy fire showing and people trapped, cmd requested a 2nd alarm. Arriving companies went into rescue operations during this radio reports firefighters went down calling in additional ems units. A 3rd alarm was struck cmd reported heavy fire through-out the building large lines went into service. A 4th was struck after heavy fire was blowing out the roof, multiple ladder companies went into operation. Five firefighters were reported injured and transported with burns, smoke inhalation and an eye injury. More than 100 firefighters assisted on-scene Red Cross reported 30 people were displaced by the fire.
