Well I'd like to clear a few things up. There was a line upstairs from around the back from before the start of this video. Around the 3:20 mark you can see fire blowing out of the side window near the rear of the house and you can see it knocked down which obviously means that there was a crew inside and they were making progress. Also there was a problem with the first engine that showed up and he could not supply water to the engine that's parked in front of the house. We used to do relay pumping due to low water pressure in the city. 35-45 lbs is normal. At the time there was only LDH on the tower and if you look close you can see that there is a 3 inch line backstretched to the hydrant. You are not going to get a lot of water from a 3 inch line thats hooked to a hydrant 300 feet down the street with water pressure of 35-45 lbs. Obviously with this house being of balloon construction there was heavy fire in the attic also. So once the crew got about halfway through the upsairs conditions were rapidly deteriorating so the boss pulled them out. When the tower showed up they established a more efficient water supply but it was already too late. This wasn't a case of a bad decision being made. It was a case of equipment failure and bad luck. It's easy to monday morning quarterback this but if you don't know the whole story you might want to not say anything negative. Just an FYI...now we have 5 inch on all of our rigs thanks to a grant. Typically what would have happened the lead engine would have dumped its 1000 gallon tank with the monitor while they stretched lines off the second rig at the same time and as soon as the first rig was done with its tank water they would go in with another 1000 gallons while the first rig went for water supply. Due to the 5 inch there is no more relay pumping and less room for problems like this.

6 min 30 sec before water. Had to see this and watch. Quick knockdown from the deck gun or even a 2 1/2 would have help in a big way. Bystanders will help just ask.

Am telling you guys, what ever happen, there is no excuse for doing that 7 minutes to start your water supply when the engineer could start some water flow with the deck gun. Are this guys volunteer or paid FF cause there sure are acting like paid FF.

Eso es como el chiste de Condorito...esperen que el fuego tome cuerpo para apagarlo.
Casi 7 minutos para lanzar el primer chorro...increible.
Eso sucede hasta en las mejores familias.

no entiendo por que demoraron tanto los bombero en poner un chorro en operación casi 7 minutos... mucho tiempo.. y ni siquiera estaban haciendo una entrada forzada ni nada. NO ENTIENDO

la maquina ya tenia agua pues habían hecho un tendido de avance para aprovisionar. dolorosamente tengo que decir que los bomberos dejaron salir ese incendio de control.

i don't get on here and ask why things happen they way they do becaues i'm not there but i would like to know why it took so long for the to attack the fire. they could have had a good knock down on it at the start of the video. i'm not sure if they didn't becaues of manpower or water supply or what it was. i do know this i would be pissed off if i was the home owner.

I normally don't make comments about things like that. But that was a long time before water was flowing.There was alot of exposure.

I dont know but it seems it took to long for water on this fire no master stream for about 7 min into this and a 1.75 line
