i live just outside myrtle beach and it has been crazy out there. we would be sitting still monitoring the radio and then all of a sudden, we would be surrounded by fire. it was best if we all kept moving around. there has been many lost houses and acres on top of acres burnt. i was there from wed (22apr09) to sun (26apr09). As of today tues (28apr09) the fire is under control and efforts will most likely be suspended this afternoon. the first 3 days me and two others were on engine 17 then we switched out to brush 1710 and the battle was on. i just want to thank everyone who assisted from other counties, and ones that volunteered there time with support, food and drinks. everyone done a great job!!!
