Thoughts on fire by Dr Frank McClusky Its very good!!
It got to be Report from Engine Co. 82 by Dennis Smith Hands Down..
my first book was report from engine co.82 by dennise smith but that was 16 years ago , i credit this book with jumjp starting me in to a service that is totally giving back to me now. i have also read many others ( leo staplton , ex boston chief great seris that he put out ) look for him at baltimore with DMC books . john salka first in , last out , and many books that take some of the worst fires in the usa , and show how the fire service has moved forward with laws and protection. i have about 15 to 20 books that totally grab me and ask to be read.
These are my favorites. Also the follow-up to 30 Years called "Commish" by Stapleton.

Also "20,000 Alarms" by Lt Richard Hamilton (ret.), FDNY Rescue 2 (I think). Wish I hadn't given it away. :-(
Report from Engine Co. 82 by Dennis Smith
You can’t make this sh!t up! By J Mac Oh wait, I’m still working on that one.

Seriously Dennis Smith has written several good books including Report from Engine Company 82 and his latest Report from Ground Zero.

Leo Stapleton has written many good books as well.

Not quite a book, but I used to love reading Tom Brennan. Just like when the newspaper comes you flip it over and go straight for the sport’s section. Every month when my copy of Fire Engineering arrived I would flip it over and go straight for Random Thoughts. Tom was the man! May he rest in peace.
I personnally liked 3000 Degrees.....I also got the Audio Book and it was so well done I listened to the entire book in 2 days......LOL
I first read Report from Eng. Co. 82 by Dennis Smith in the mid 70' while in grade school. Thats all it took and I was hooked.
3000 degrees, Report from ground Zero, Report from Engine Co 82 and Firelover. (the book about John Orr)
My favorite so far is Saving Troy. Even had it signed by the author when he was at Womens Weekend at Montour Falls 2 years ago. Really good book.
Firelover was a great book. It sucks when one of our brothers/sisters turn to the dark side.
grab a pen and get on it. :)
