What do you expect to be communicated to you from the first company or incident command?

Engine 1 is on location we have a mobile home (modular home) with heavy fire on the B side, smoke showing from the D side.  Engine 1 is command and will be initiating fire attack. 

 

What would your staffing be and on what apparatus?

In both of my volunteer FDs the second due rig, assuming this is a rural non hydranted area, would be a tender.  It would be staffed with 2.

 

In a hydranted area on one of my volunteer FDs second due would be the heavy rescue with 4 to 6, and on the other it would be an engine with 4 to 6.

 

In your area, what would your responsibilities be as the second-arriving company?

 

Non-hydranted area intial responsibilities would be establishing a water supply.  Dropping the foldatank, dumping the water, and setting up the drafting ops.

 

Hydranted area initial responsibilites would be the second attack line and truck work, to include search.

Initial scene size up: smoke showing, Fire conditions, occupancy reports, building construction, proposed plan of action.

What would your staffing be and on what apparatus?

Volunteer department,  second out apparatus is the engine minimum of 4 and a maximum  of 6, ladder(quint) would be first out.

In your area, what would your responsibilities be as the second-arriving company?

Establish a water supply, stretch back up line
