Study materials or practice sheets for exam to be accepted into paramedic course?
Hi, I'm actually posting on behalf of my boyfriend who is anxious about an upcoming test to be accepted into a paramedic program. (He has already received his EMT-B certification)
He's currently out of town for work and has been unable to look for, or even pinpoint, some helpful study materials, and I feel pretty worthless looking for random medical conversions online. While actually searching for paramedic study materials, I think most that I've found have either been for the actual NREMT exam or requirement payment, or both.
If anyone can recommend a website or resource that has study materials for exams that are set up for EMT-Bs entering a paramedic program, I would be extremely and sincerely grateful and I know my boyfriend would be even more so!!

Is the paramedic program part of a technical or community college and does he have a degree at all? Is the paramedic program a certification course or is it a degree program?
Paramedic does vary and in places can be a six month (rare) to a one year course for a paramedic certification. There are also places where paramedic can be a two year associate degree. My guess is that if looking to get into such a program the test would be a typical placement test for a school, not so much the course.
Since he is looking to get INTO a paramedic program, then there wouldn't have to be any reason to study about being a paramedic before getting in. If looking for program specifics, they would also have to limit such testing to what the perrequisites are to get in the program, such as maybe requiring EMT-B. This means they could only ask questions pertinent to that level of training, not paramedic.
My hunch is though, that such a test is more along the lines of a placement test to identify areas of weakness, say like math, science etc. So if looking to study anything, I would look at the perrequisites for the class and keep things more to a general nature rather than worrying about paramedic level questions.
