Here on Firefighter Nation back in February, a post was presented on the positives and negatives of positive pressure ventilation.  Much has been hailed and much has been poo-poo'd on its use. 

Truth is, the efficacy of its use is completely dependent upon the knowledge of it's users and their training in applying correctly.

Kinda like everything else in the fire service- use it right and it helps immensely.  Use it wrong and it could damn well kill you and your crews.

Here's a YouTube video from that original forum post.  As you watch the crews prepare to enter the "box", you get a good view of what is probably happening with the fire conditions inside.  Look for impending signs of flashover.  Read the smoke.
