So, we have a firefighter who was shot and killed on the job.

Do we classify this as a Line of Duty Death or do we start a new category "Killed in Action"?

Do we now all need bullet proof vests as well?

I was on Ghettomedic a few months back and I was reading a post from one of our members in England who said that the whole crew were assailed by a group of thugs with weapons yet England has banned the public from carrying weapons for personal defense. England is supposed to be the last place that this would occur. I'm not surprised at all. What I am is saddened and angry. Angry that misguided screwed up people have the nerve to shoot emergecny services workers because they are saving lives. That is nothing short of what the devil himself would do.
I have had a bottle broken by a drunk and waved in my face. I was physically attacked by a drunk girl whose boyfriend was lying dead in the road from a vehicle accident. I had a guy grab me at a car wreck and shake me when I said I couldn't help a guy in the vehicle that was dead. I have walked into things at domestics that have made me hesitate. We had a drunk try to burn his house down and when we tried to put it out, he stood on the hill and threw rocks at us. He even swung at a few of the firefighters. I am waiting for one of us to be seriously hurt, and all this happened with police standing right near me. The times are getting worse and worse and its getting to where I want to wear a flax jacket on calls! For goodness sake EVERYONE stay safe!!! and my condolences to this man's family and fire department.
