LODD IN THE MAPLEWOOD FIRE DEPARTMENT

As many of you have watched the news today, I am deeply sad to report that a fellow brother from the Maplewood Fire Dept. was shot and killed today after responding to a vehicle fire. 22-year old Paramedic/Firefighter Ryan Hummert was mortally wounded by a gunmen as he exited the Maplewood fire truck after it arrived to the scene of a call for a car fire. 2 other law enforcement officers were wounded at the scene as well.

I am reporting this news to all of you in hopes that you will pray for Ryan's family and firefighter family while they deal with this tragic loss. My prayer's have been and will continue to go out to them. They will need all the support and prayer's they can get.

Ryan is a true hero and deserves all the praise for what he did each and every day. Remember to love evey moment in your life and get your heart and soul straight with God.

May God bless you and keep you Ryan.

Myself and the members of the Allison#2 V.F.C. would like to express our deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and fellow firefighters.

It's always saddens me when we loose a member of the firefighting family. We will keep his family in our prayers!
These situations are so tradgic because we don't normally think of being injured or killed in this way, not as a firefighter. I feel so bad for Ryan's family, friends and firefighter brothers. I hope there are many people around to comfort all of them.

God Bless!
As I watched the Fox news, and as the events unfolded, a chill ran trough my heart. I felt for the families of the firefighter as well as the officers. I know from first hand how it feels to have the chief show up at your door. My father was a Police Officer for 25yrs and saw the look on my mother's face when she would answer the door and be told "your husband has been injured in the line of duty". I was lucky in that my father did come home, but at that time you don't know if they are or not. My son is a firefighter and he is following in my steps and I hope this day never comes to my family. All my prayers go out to Ryan's family, friends and brothers. I know God has a special place in Heaven for Firefighters I know Firefighter/Paramedic Ryan Hummert is there beside God.
Go in peace, Brother. My family sends it's prayers to you and yours.
