I do not wear a gut belt, but I have a different type of truck belt/reasuce harness. On my belt I carry a small bag w/ 40 ft of life safety rope with a carbiner on a figure 8 at the end. I also have another carabiner clipped to the belt as well. I usually slide the flat head axe into my belt and carry the haligan.
I have a Chicago fire issued Nylon rated Truck/Utility belt
the belt can hold up to 2000 pound.
Sewn into the front right of the belt is a triangle carabiner , attached to that I have an auto locking carabiner
then on the back right i have an O ring with my glove keeper on it also i use the O ring to slide my Pike pole
in if im sitting the peak venting , on the left i have a screw locking carabiner sewn into the belt attached with a piece of small looped nylon girth hitched holding my lantern , Thats it... my life line with a figure 8 and carabiner is in my leg pocket

Over the last few years, I've changed the set up on my belt. I now carry my rope bag with a carabiner in my left pants pocket and on my belt I have two screw locking carabiners attached @ different points. I still slide a flat head or sledge hammer into my belt to free my hands for working or carrying another tool.
