Do anyone run the Boston bend on their lid if so does it hit your SCBA bottle a lot?

Cheese and rice. Why purposefully change a piece of safety equipment for looks? Do you care about doing the job, or just looking like you do the job?

Some companies, like Phenix, ask you to pick a certain bend when you order it.  It's not all about looks, it has to do with function as well.  I have a Bronx bend on mine.  I'm shorter and find it actually helps with reducing the profile.

Function to a certain aspect perhaps, depending upon dept protocol or SOG. If the dept is issuing a helmet as part of PPE then don't mess with it. If you have the choice to order your own and it comes from the mfg that way, then it is up to the mfg to be responsible for any safety related issues. However, messing around with one's current lid could lead to issues if one so chooses to mess around with it. So again, is it about doing the job or just looking the part? Essentially one should know all aspects before messing around with safety equipment, especially one as important as the lid.

I thought the "Boston Bend" was when the brim is totally flat?

My N5A is just the way it came from the factory and it never hits my SCBA. We wear MSA packs.
