I am after information on portable LED scene lights, what have people found to be the best etc. My dept is looking at upgrading our scene lighting and it looks like LED is the way to go

We've built one stand-mounted scene light with two 1800 lumen LED light heads as a first experiment. It will light 500 square feet. An option to look at if you're building your own is offroad row lights, such as the ones mounted on 4x4 recreational vehicles. They are very bright. Here are a couple of ideas:

The way to compare output is the "lumens," or brightness. Some offroad light bars put out as much as 5000 lumens.

The only way to go. More light less power.

My station bought a battery powered portable scene light to go along with the lights we use on our unit. We just replace the scene lights on our engine with LED scene lights similar to what is on our ladder truck.
