I'm a high school senior who is looking for some scholarships to help out future fireman. I'm a dedicated volunteer who is willing to pay the ultimate price to help a stranger. I'm hoping someone can help me find some scholarships or grants that will help me pursue my dream of becoming a professional firefighter.

Check with the college you are applying at. They should have some form of financial aid such as Pell grants available. Also, most colleges have waiver forms for firefighter certificate courses. I'm currently enrolled in the Fire Science Associates program which is a 2 year program and between a waiver and Pell grants, my courses are all paid for.

Check with your state fire academy. They may be able to tell you different association's that have grant programs.

First look into a degree in Fire Science and when that degree is completed you have just started your educational journey.  Then you need to look into a degree in Public Administration if you ever want to consider any form of advancement.

I have just completed my degree in Public Administration and while it was time consuming it is what will make me more appreicated and employable in the future.

Check with your state fire school they know the ins and outs of this. Also check with the local community colleges, trade and tech schools in your area. They are the best places to check, Also try some of the online colleges. Make sure your fire courses will lateral over as college credits. Most states allow it, some may not.
