Question to FDNY firefighers or anyone with knowledge of the department

I was watching The Bravest and some other dvds tonight and I noticed some firefighters carrying a white bag over their shoulder getting off the trucks mostly the rescues and squads. Just wondering if anyone knew what the purpose and set up of this bag is?

It was many to carry smaller tools of the trade an ropes.

Haven't seen the video but could be our roof rope. depending on how old the video is could also be our rabbit tool.

Rich, The video is one of the episodes to the TV show called The Bravest that was on after 9/11 but shot previous to that day.

Rich I've watched the same videos and wondered about that as well . I've also notice that the NYFD seem reluctant to go on air is that a policy that the department has or just a decision left up to the individuals. Thanks sparky that bag had me wondering as well.
