Do Juniors have to hold any medical certification or have any medical training in your department?
Is it mandatory? Opitional?
Are they certified in First Aid? CPR?
If not, should they be? (I realize that most Jrs aren't allowed to have ANY patient contact) but would it not be useful to know in an emergency, anyway?
Should that certification count as "Extra Credit"?
Basically,~If a Junior/Cadet/Whatever you call them~holds some type of Certification would they be more ready to hold further certification for a career job?
The Red Cross offers training and certification for teens interested in holding Basic First Aid and CPR Certificates.
In my county you can dual enroll with a local community college at 16 and/or 10th grade to get your certification as an EMT-B and EMT-I. My friend was certified in BLS at 17.
Just wondering~
