Over 100 California Firefighters Fight Office Building Blaze

TUSTIN, Calif. - More than 100 firefighters have doused a fire that badly damaged a 50,000-square-foot office building in Orange County but caused only one minor injury.

The blaze broke out around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday on Irvine Boulevard in Tustin. About 120 firefighters knocked down the fire in about two hours but witnesses say about half of the building appears to be a total loss. The two-story building housed a variety of businesses.

Orange County Fire Authority Battalion Chief Kris Concepcion says one person who was inside the office where the blaze apparently started was treated for a singed face. He says others who were in the building got out safely.

The blaze sent up a huge plume of smoke that drifted across the county.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

50,000 sq ft. no sprinklers, please do not tell me grandfather applies. Calf. still has the worst codes in the U.S. and they don't get better.
