What I am getting at is this... my dept. Ages of volunteers ranges from 20-60's, handful in each age. We have retired military from Marines "ooh rah" to Navy and some are still in the service and are deployed. HM also has retired firefighters, and paid firefighters. Also your blue collars as such as myself. HM treat us like a family, we care for one another and are there for one another in times of grief. HM had it's annual X-mas party last night to where family and friends gather for a feast to come together and enjoy ones company and let the kids play amongst them selves. Then HM gave back to their own firefighters. After the kids had recieved their X-mas gifts from Santa, HM gave each firefighter a pull over fleace jacket and a dept. shirt to show their gradatude to their own, which no ones was expecting and thought that was the best gesture one could recieve this holiday of giveness. I am proud very proud to be part of the Half Moon family and a Mooner. How about you?

Hey, what are you sucking up for?

Kidding bro. That's great that your dept. does something like that for you. Some can and some can't. You are fortunate to be a part of the ones who can.

We, too, had our Christmas banquet last night. Same idea. A gathering to bring everyone together in the same room to socialize. A local church provides the feast. And we provide them a nice donation. We give out awards and prizes as well. Our turnout is not huge, around 130 people. A manageable crowd. But always a good time.

When you described your membership, I believe you described most volly dept.s out there, which I think is great because of the many different stories that can be told.
