CHICAGO - About 130 firefighters are battling an extra-alarm blaze on Chicago's North Side that's engulfed three buildings.

Chicago Fire Department spokesman Richard Rosado says the fire began Friday morning in a vacant commercial building.

The blaze has spread to buildings on either side, including a two-story residential structure.

Rosado says the buildings were mostly vacant. No injuries have been reported.

He says firefighters are in a defensive mode and "are pouring copious amounts of water" on the fire.
