Hi all,
I am planning to buy a new small fire truck. The engine is japanese. I am going to use this truck in a desert climate for a small jet airway. It should be 2400ltrs water tank, and 600ltrs foam. I got some prices from some manufacturers, but i am not sure what should i be asking about other than capacities which i already asked. What other concerns should i make manufacturers aware of in regards to general body building, finishing, quality, etc..how should these tanks be belt? I need any one to help me out ordering this fire truck..i have some photos and some specs...if there's any one could suggest any thing..please do so..if you like to see photos or specs
my email is info@technositeyemen.com

You need to determine all that the truck will need to do, other than put out fire. What tools will you carry? How much hose and what size. How many firefighters will it carry? Do you want 911 seats? Do you need a generator, scene lights, deluge gun, etc? There are so many questions that need to be asked.

Look at your current trucks and list the things you would change and how.

I would suggest going to other department (both Career and Volunteer) and look at their trucks. Make a note of things you like and dislike.

I would also suggest getting 3 or 4 firefighters together and form a comittee for the truck. You don't want all the decision left to one person. Have several involved gets a variety of opinions, this would make a better truck.
1: have a budget

2: a list of need to have ; motor, pump size, amount of water, amount of hose needed, tools.

3: a list of wants (things that can be removed to meet budget) ; light tower, Fed "Q", lightbar options.

4: talk with several salesmen

5: DON'T SACRIFICE QUALITY !!! you will pay for it in the end
