I started a discussion about resources and pointed out what happened in Detroit. I was wrong...really wrong....really really wrong as many people pointed out. While I thought I knew the condition of the city but many people pointed out the trails and tribulations they truly face.

I want this to be an open apology to the Firefighters and officer of the DFD.

I can understand how when you don't have the resources dealing with the basic "everyday" incidents far outweigh dealing with a once in blue moon incident. One thing I live about this site is that everytime I come on I can learn something.

Yes, EVERY TOWN is NOT EQUAL.

Be grateful that you are blessed to live and work in an area that is rich with resources and SUPPORT !!!
Craig,

Much respect to you.

I understand that you didn't intend to throw a diss at DFD and that you were just asking questions based upon how things are in your area in the original post.

I had no idea about the real situation in Detroit until your post started me researching the topic.
All I can say is that I have a tremendous amount of respect for DFD's members just for showing up at work every day with what they face.

Your post stimulated an interesting conversation that not only promotes planning, interoperability, and mutual aid, it also shows us that it's difficult to judge someone until you walk a mile in their shoes.

Congratulations for walking the walk, brother.
You are a good man JP Craig. Detroit has big problems but their FF's deal with it every day as FF's do.
Craig,
This post shows that you are exactly what all firefighters should strive to be.
Your original post really wasn't incorrect in general terms but as we all know every situation is different, and I truly respect you for posting this apology to our brothers and sisters in Detroit. If some day our paths cross I would be honored to fight along side of you or better yet just sit down and have a cold one with you.
