It has come to my attention recently from a few of you that you might be coming to
Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, especially since we'll be at 99% occupancy this weekend with an estimated daily population exceeding 250,000. We are located as far south as you can go in South Carolina without it becoming Georgia (you can see Tybee Island, Georgia across the Savannah River from our South Beach) and we are NOWHERE near Myrtle Beach, which is on the OTHER end of the South Carolina coast.
As a resort destination, we have a lot of traveling brothers and sisters stop by daily and we would hope if you are in town you'd come see us. Anyone, but especially firefighters and EMS personnel, are welcome to come by and visit ANY fire station on the Island. We encourage visitors.
We do sell t-shirts at most of our stations but we don't have patches, and I don't believe of our people trade patches, but you can always ask. But if you want to come by, see our apparatus and stations, and meet our people, we'd love to have you.
However, we do not rent out bunks or have a place to shack up. That's why we have all those time shares and hotels here. They'd love to hook you up. Like most of our bars, we say the same thing at the end of the day, "You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here." We can point you to great accommodations though.
Come by and say "Hi". We'll be here.
