This is a good video from our friends and fellow bloggers at Traditions Training. It shows proper packaging and removal up a stairwell.

Remember, these videos are for reference and information only. You have to drill and practice these skills with an instructor that has the background and experience to ensure proper technique.

Train hard and stay safe.

Decent video. Some points for the good of the order to make the training better as we teach alot of this stuff as well.

Consideration should be made for the firefighters injury, handling him with (throwing the hips) can be dangerous if the victim is injured, clearing the victim from entanglement hazards should be part of the ABC's, and the victim should be on air so they have to deal with air assessment and controlling an active pass alarm.

When ascending the stairs the bottom firefighter needs to get much lower into the victim's groin (victims knees should be on the top of your shoulders) the bottom FF is hardly doing anywork when the victims boots are at his chin, there is no driving the victim up (too much flex in the legs) thus the top firefighter is actually doing all the lifting here on every pull. If done in unison, the top firefighter should only have to lift the victim's SCBA up enough to clear the valve assy and the bottom firefighter would drive him upward.

Communicate - Ready / Go, move on the "go command" and both work in unison. Like you said, good first run... takes many many repetitons to get coordinated.
Thanks for the tips. Good things to consider.
Thanks for posting,
had a class on this and still learned a technique.
Thanks, Jason. Lots of ways to move a downed firefighter. This clearly illustrates one of them. Good quality material.
I dont know bout the firefighters here but my station got all new gear and we have a harness on the inside of our coats and rope in the back you uncover and you can pull the person that way. Its nice.
Your welcome, Traditions Training does some really good stuff. I will keep posting this kind of content and thanks for your comments. Stay low, Brother.
