Tennessee Firefighters Conduct High-Speed Highway Rescue

RICEVILLE, BRADLEY COUNTY - The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating a bizarre case that turned into a high-speed rescue on Interstate 75.
Firefighters say it seemed like something out of a movie instead of real life, but they made a dangerous rescue on I-75.
A woman told dispatchers she thought her car had been rigged with a bomb and it would go off if they slowed down.
Firefighters saw two young children in the car. That's when they tackled what they call a rolling rescue.
The woman passed her 3-year-old from her car to firefighters in a truck, while running about 55 miles per hour.
"Not many decisions to make, or many things to do. The car was rolling down the interstate with a potential bomb...not many things to do," says Chief Brandon Ainsworth with the Riceville Volunteer Fire Department.
Amber Oakes and her husband Lance Oakes had another child in the car, who apparently wouldn't let go of the mother. No one was injured. The ATF and Chattanooga Bomb Squad were dispatched. There was no bomb. The investigation continues.
