Do you think there is a possibility of this picture beginning a disassembly of jr. programs nationally?
Obviousely there are some that just don't get it.
I, by any means, am not trying to start a pro and con session of jr. programs. It's just a question; bordering on a rhetorical one at that.
not sure.i havent talked to ed in regards to this
he should have some gear on...
"he should have some gear on..."
I think that sums up the issue nicely.
Let me put it this way....In my book he doesn't want to listen....then he is done.....no more calls period....if he has this attitude as a Jr. then as a Firefighter he will get himself or someone else killed....The man on the line should also be spoken to......this is totally unacceptable......and the Safety Officer and IC....? A few people were NOT doint their jobs in my book......Stay safe...Keep the Faith.....Paul
Where are all of the officers? This should never happen. We do not have jr. firefighters but if we did they would only be able to observe and not that close to the fire. Just imagine what would happen if he were to get burned our injured. Someone needs to be watching this young gentleman very closely.
I used to argue in favor of jr programs. Slowly but surely I have seen more and more reasons for their abolishment. In my opinion this is the final argument. The playground needs to be closed permanently.
Not solely the kids fault. This is a major leadership issue.

The kid should of been removed from there, and if it was my department he probably would be told to turn his gear in and don't ever come back.
What gear?
maybe they're department issued shorts and shoes?? Oh wait...is that a maltese cross on the back of his shirt??
I am not trying to start an argument, just stating my opinon:
Explorers/ Jr.'s should not be banned from every department. Los Angeles has some GREAT explorer programs. I think that maybe some departments need to maybe 'tighten the ropes' a little bit and make the application and training process more...i guess difficult and strenuisous, so thesetypes of situations NEVER HAPPEN! And also, why should 1 kid out in who knows where (not trying to be mean) ruin it for the whole country. Not every explorer is like this, not every program trains there explorers/Jr.'s in the same way. Everyone is DIFFERENT!!! This one kid shouldnt make people think that Explorers/Jr.'s are bad.

Now, this picture is horrible. I'll agree to that.
