I'm proud to announce that i received a call this morning from the city manager stating that i would be starting my new job with the City Fire Department on Sunday.  after a year of written testing, CPAT test and two interviews and a medical evaluation, and waiting and some more waiting, the day has finally come.  i'm so excited and nervous i don't know what to say.  i landed my dream job!

Congratulations, My advice is be a sponge accept information and work. Make them tell you to slow down and then keep working just a little bit more. My first day out in the field after the academy I waxed the rig after everyone went to bed and didn't say a word and yet someone noticed. I got to sleep at like 3 am and then we had a calls at 3:15 am another at 5am then one at 0615 before a 0700 shift change. I was exhausted because we had drilled all day but the crew I was assigned to while learning engine work had my back from then on.
thats great advice. i appreciate your response.
Josh, Congratulations. Now the work ( and fun) start. I am sure you will love it. There is nothing quite like it and I am sure you are about to find that out. Never stop wanting to learn. Never stop wanting to DO. Keep your head on straight, and your heart in place. Train and practice like your life depends on it. (actually it does, and I know you have heard that lots before) Very happy for you bro. All the best of luck. Stay safe always, and always avoid breathing ANY amount of smoke. Trust me on that k! wooohooooo go get'em!
