Check out the link for some really good videos on high rise nozzle pressures and set ups.  As you will read in the post, Brotherhood Instructors do a great job and you should visit their site regularly.  Stay safe and be careful.

I've seen that before. I have some good friends who are instructors for "Brotherhood" and they do a great job. Highly recommend their programs. It still is surprising to see so many departments that equip their standpipe packs with high-pressure, adjustible nozzles, when the information out there is overwhelming how inferior these nozzles are for such application.
Even the size of hose used needs some good thought. Considering the amount of time it takes to get that first line in service, and how long it may take to get the next one flowing, it's pretty easy to see how you can quickly get into trouble. The key is to confine, control, and extinguish the fire quickly, and not have a marginal weapon in which you have to do battle with the fire to control it. Throw in the average furnished apartment, or the open-spaces of an offcie-type, and then add in the wind-driven potential, and you are going to be in trouble.
It seems to boil down to manuverability vs. flow. How many departments have explored the potential of 2" hose in such applications?
Ted,
Let me know how that goes and how it performs. Thanks for the info.
I could use what ever info you come up with as well. Brand of hose used, nozzles, length of stretch, what type of flow meter...etc. I am looking to change some things over and that will involve some obvious purchasing. I haven't heard enough info on 2" yet.
