BRAZIL, Ind. - Authorities say a semitrailer loaded with plastic materials caught fire next to fuel pumps at an Interstate 70 truck stop in western Indiana.

Workers were able to shut off the fuel pumps when the fire started Thursday night at the Pilot Travel Center near the city of Brazil.

While the fire destroyed the trailer, the Clay County Sheriff's Department says no injuries were reported. Firefighters faced large plumes of flame and heavy smoke as they worked to extinguish the blaze in the trailer that extended out from under the fuel pump island's roof.

State Trooper Darryl Cooley said two fuel pumps sustained heavy damage.

this could have been a big problem it the workers didn't shut the pumps down.
The contents were the stuffing that goes in bedding and some plastic. Between the roads and the Hydrants being frozen, we were lucky. It could have been much worse.
