I happen to stumble across it on hulu and watched it.
Is it worth watching just to (eventually) see all sorts of personal (and personnel) issues take center stage? Not to me.
There's enough in life as it is without bothering to watch people acting out in front of a camera.
And the back stories...why bother, are the viewers going to be voting them off of the show? I'm actually surprised they didn't set it up like survivor, you know, immunity, alliances, all of that b.s.
Yeah I know, it's just 'fun' to watch it and I'm being a cynical ass. I am, it's just that they are capitalizing on it being firefighters for the commercial value. And it's not like fire departments have a hard time getting applicants (paid ones anyways but it might push people into the vfd side.) Will it make people more aware and supportive of their local FD when it comes to budget time? Most likely no. So in the end the only ones that really benefit are the producers and sponsors. Well, ok, and those people that get their 15 minutes of fame. What can I say, I'm a huge fan of real life.
Hey, I'm a big fan of "real life" as well. I have a TV, but it's really nothing more than a flower pot holder. No cable, no satelite. Just the way I like it. Only vice is this damn computer. Oh well, I get a lot of stuff done. But, it is fun to watch people get the crap knocked out of them in training of any kind.
