Does anyone know why they don`t make firefighting movies like they do cops. It`s not fair the firefighting movies I have seen are a lot better then cop movies.Ladder 49 and Backdraft turned out great so I think they should make more firefighting movies. The shows on the other hand they had emergency, rescue 911,and no rescue me what i heard is going to end in 2011.They got the show cops, and speeders that`s cops. What is so special about cops I know its a dangours job but so is firefighting. It seems like cops get more credit sometimes then firefighters.I think they should put rescue 911 back on air with new rescues not repeats. And I also think they should have show like emergency was because that was a great show I wasn`t born when they were making them but I saw reruns. So they need more shows like emergency and resuce 911 and movies like ladder 49 and backdraft. So who agrees with me

well you can challange the state test in texas if you have over mmm i dont remember the number of hours in the state of texas through the sffma but i guarontee that you will learn more from an academy
o i see so the academy is better
I think he ment
"Yes, I know. I understand now about the Fire Academy."
Randy Mantooth of Emergency tried to sell a new LACFD show to the networks for a while about USAR operations but they didn't buy into. Once and a while something pops up about the fire dept somewhere. For a while you had Ghost Whisper where the husband was a fireman and then they changed that by killing off the character and making him someone else when his ghost took over someone else body.
Ghost Whisperer had a fireman character eh? Never knew that, I'll have to check it out, if nothing else Jennifer Love Hewitt is in it right?

Couple reasons, first is the footage...pretty hard to get good footage from inside a structure fire. Along with that, much of these shows that were out like The Bravest and web based series like thebattalion.tv showed FF in training. That is fine and good for a small market like firefighters....bit more difficult when ratings is the name of the game. Most viewers out there don't really care too much about just watching FF's train.

With series like COPS, the crew can go out with an officer or so and they are out roaming. A cop can go to different types of calls and you see that happen in such series. On the fire side of things, we stay in the barn until called out. It makes it tough for film crews to just sit around and wait for stuff to happen. Even some of the busiest companies tend to be still when there are such riders at the station. Take for instance the 2 French filmakers who captured a lot of the footage on 9/11. They were with a FDNY crew filming about a probie and doing the job. They also didn't catch any fires or real good footage and were ready to pack it in when 9/11 occurred. It is just tougher to justify funding.
well they could fake it u know like john walsh did with kidnappings and crimes
When Ghost Whisperer started she was getting married. She met her husband while he was a firefighter and then they moved to the small town where he took a job with the local fire dept. Every once and a while there would a fire or crash and there would be a ghost the wife would ended up talking to.
There was even a airline crash outside of town. I think SYFY is starting the series from the begining 9-7-09.
Okay, Thanks for the info., ashfire.
The old TV show Rescue 911 did some re enactments of incidents so I can't see why they couldn't do fire scenes. Maybe there should be a New Rescue 911 with maybe William Shatner or a new host.
There use to be some fire related reality shows where camera personnel rode on calls with crews. Think of today where firefighters are wearing helmet cameras or the smoke cameras that are used now can transmit to receivers so that others can see what the crew is involved in.
TV audiences don't get to see what fire crews are using today to find victims or locate the sit of a fire. What if a show was done where a crew goes to a fire and pull out the smoke camera and the helmet cam you follow them to the fire or the victim? Should it be real or fictional?
