Yes, I was backing up my crew going into a Pain and body place that was heavily involved. I was on my knees just inside the door as they slowly worked their way back into the structure. Apparently there was a Porsche car in here with the air filled shock type of bumper. The air cylinder exploded blowing he bumper off the car. It flew backwards striking me in the legs blowing me over backwards. My Asst Chief saw this happen and reached down to help me. I had pretty bad bruising of my legs knees and ribs but thankfully lived to tell about it.. We always tell our folks to stay to the side when approaching this type of vehicle. Who knew there was one in that fire.
Banged and bruised but thankfully NO
That depends...if you don't count splinters, minor burns(1st and/or 2nd), a few contusions and abrasions, dehydration(headaches, cramps and naseau), foreign objects in your eyes, pulled muscles, twisted ankles, a bloody nose(pulling a ceiling...nuff said), and almost crapping in my turnouts a couple of times...then no!

TCSS
brush fire, 1/2 acre involved upon arrival and running uphill.
arrived, got out of engine, was looking at the fire and not at the trench next to the engine where we parked.
used the rail on the side of the engine to break my fall
resulted in a full thickness tear of the rotator cuff and a broken piece of bone floating around...

and yes, it hurts...

IMPORTANT RULE: REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU THINK IT'S A MINIMAL INJURY, REPORT IT, DOCUMENT IT AND FOLLOW IT THROUGH...
I was on a structure fire had fire knocked down and had been doing overhaul for about an hour and a half when something exploded about 5ft in front of me knocking out I remember 2 guys from my company draggin me out by my pack. I had chemical burns to my face nothin to bad so that was good. I was upset with myself because i figured it was overhaul and there was no need for a face mask. Thankfully that was all that happened and i didnt get hurt worse then what i did. I know always wear my face mask whenever im doing overhaul.
I had a full sheet of water soaked ceiling and insulation hit me on the head spraining my neck and giving me a mild concussion.

We had a fire in an attic and had hit it through an inspection hole with the hoseline. I asked for another line with a piercing applicator sent up and when it arrived the crew stuck it through the ceiling. I started to tell them to hold off hitting the fire so we could open some more of the ceiling to avoid having the waterlogged mess hit us when it collapsed, knocking me down and out.
In a fire, no. thank god.
Coming out from a fire, yes. Was pulling the hose over the outside railing of an appartment (had work gloves on, not structure) and a rose bush sliced through my glove and cut open my hand pretty nastily....still have a 3 inch scar!
A few minor cuts and bruises but nothing major.
There's the one muscle in my upper back that I seem to pull like clockwork every year. I guess he ain't up to par like the rest of em.

Serious injury and thankfully not death has struck our dept though.... My chief and 2 other mutual neighbors almost got caught in a flashover a few years back. 1 had minor burns to his ears and neck, my chief and the 3rd both ended up with burnt wrists, necks, and the sides of their hips. They did skin graphs on the bosses sides and I remember him having to wear those compression sleeves on his arms for a good while.
No. Why?
