(AP) OKLAHOMA CITY - Five people have been injured, including three firefighters, after a three-alarm fire at an apartment complex in northwest Oklahoma City
Deputy Fire Chief Cecil Clay says at least 30 people were evacuated early Thursday morning after the blaze broke out the Pine Ridge Condominiums.
Clay says a woman started cooking breakfast about 4:15 a.m. and then fell asleep. When she awoke, her kitchen was engulfed in flames.
Three firefighters were injured, including two who were transported to the hospital. Two residents also suffered smoke inhalation. Clay says none of the injuries were life threatening.
Clay says 75 firefighters battled the blaze, and at least two people had to be rescued from windows after becoming trapped on the second floor.
Twenty apartment units were damaged, including eight that were destroyed.
