should the color of fire apparatus be red or lime green? or does it matter? why or why not?

Does not matter. As far as visabilty is concerned, white contrasts the most.
I know the tradition is red. I really like red trucks with black tops.

But I really like rescue green (lime green as yall call it.) thats the color of our trucks at our department. here is all of our trucks.

here is the breakdown
Everyone knows that fireline companys love to compeat, this is why the color red was first selected. Red was the most expensive paint color available.
Why white? Henry Ford used the cheapest color paint available at the time on his early production vehicles, which was black. What would stand out aginst black? The opisite, WHITE.
Why green and blue? Someone was bored.
