What's the last thing you say to your wife, husband , and family before you run out the door to answer an alarm? I always take the time to tell my wife that I love her. I tell I love her before she leaves for work, or to do any errands that she might have to do. I always tell her I love her before I hang up the phone with her, no matter who might be around to hear me. I do the same w/ my two sons even though they are both grown and living on their own. I say I love you to my family every chance I get, because, in our line of work it might be the last chance we get to say it. I know that we get our chops busted if the " guys " hear us sayI love you to our significant others, but when I get it, I just remind them that we may not get to see them again and if that happens , what's the last thing they would want them to hear? So take the time to tell them that you love them. You'll be glad that you did.

Now that is GOOD!
I always get the last word in....its usually "Yes, Dear"...LOL....On a more serious note....I usually make a comment about I WILL see you soon.......or that I am concerned for them...something goofy to get the train of thought off of me....My family and friends have enough to be concerned about without worrying every time I run out the door.....Paul
I have a daughter and a son on the way, so I hug my wife, kiss her belly and tell my son bye, and I pick up my daughter and squeeze her tight and give her a kiss, I kiss my wife and ALWAYS look back when I pull out of the drive way and wave and blow kisses. I then drive to the station to start my shift.
I love you
Ditto here and I add "I'll be the truck and I'm leaving in 60 seconds" TCSS
i am not married, but i tell my girlfriend "if i'm not back in an hour, just wait longer." that always lightens her mood. then i tell her "i love you sweetheart and i'll see you soon." then i have to scratch my dog between the ears and head to the station.
I always tell her what I want done around the house while I'm gone!
Ha,ha!
The last thing I say to my wife is usually," You coming or staying here?" We run on the same department and have for since the beginning.
Stay Safe
I've made it a habit to always make sure my family knows that i love them including the dog. It's not about living in fear, it's about facing the reality of the situation we put ourselves in. Never ever be ashamed of showing and telling your family just how you feel about them. It does not make you weak, it makes your family strong!
Always tell your family that you love them every chance you get. There is nothing more important than family and love is the strongest ties you can have. Never be ashamed or afraid to say "I love you" Those that laugh, criticize or rib you about it are either insecure or jealous (outside of just some good natured ribbing that buddies do with each other).

I want everyone to see that I love and cherish my wife and family. My commitment to family is the cornerstone of my life and helps define who I am.
