we use the Red Alert system by alpine http://www.alpinesoftware.com
We have been using Red Alert for the past few years. It's got some neat features that are useful if you take the time to learn them.
We use the NFIRS standard reporting system. It is realively easy to use and I am currently the only one that enters runs in the computer.
We use nfirs online and i have made some spreedsheets to track calls, personel. I have omni form for making reports to print hard copies.
We use firehouse software for all fire reports its rather moderately priced(think our license was $2000 and aprox $250/year for maintenace and upgrades). Plus I think you can save money by not buying extra modules. It has a long list of reports that you can generate with just a few clicks of the mouse. Website is www.firehousesoftware.com. If you have any other questions about it send me an email and i'll answer the best I can
Another one to try is www.emergencyreporting.com. We use this for our dept and the other depts around us use it also. It is very easy to use and is internet based. Just a idea for ya. If ya have any other questions about it let me know n will try n answer them for ya.
we use fire programs was about half the price of fire house and updates are about 200 a year. saves a lot of time rather than paperand has a lot of modules that help out in tracking stuff.
We use NFIRS and we are a relatively small department. Perhaps you could get a local business to donate a computer and an internet connection.
firehouse software
I do NFIRS reporting once I get home for our volunteer dept. CAD emails run info when the call is completed. I can get home cleaned up and then do the report.
.
Our State Fire Marshals Office contracts with Image Trends which provides a program online for us to do our reporting. They have fashioned it similar to Firehouse software and it is submitted in a NFIRS format. It has been a great program and the price is right. It is free to us other then having to have internet access which we have anyhow.
For what it's worth, this post and 2 others were revived by a person who had started a discussion on her own pay-for-use service. When I pointed out to her that she was advertising but was not a paid sponsor and it violated the TOS, she pulled her discussion and then went into these other 3 (that she had revived) and responded as if just answering the posts, suggesting (without admitting) her "own" business. In other words, she was using this site to spam for her own business.
