Hey I was wondering how long after completing and EMT-B class one would have to register before I would have to retake the class? I was thinking it was two years but all of my firefighting stuff is one year from completion and now Im unsure of this one

Your best bet is to get ahold of the state division of public saftey and ask them. Missouri is pretty picky on time frames. My husband was 2 days late on registering his EMT-P and Missouri wouldn't let him. just get on thier website and it will give you the number. Good Luck.
Yeah that was the plan if nobody answered here. I figured I may as well post the question since it was a saturday and wasnt likely to get an answer on the telephone until monday
I believe you have one year from the time you complete the class until you have to take the test. you get two attempts to take the written and two attempts to take the physical. If you do not pass then you may re-enter the class anytime after that. Not sure if I understood your question but hope it helps.
That sounds right with the exception of the amount of times you're allowed to test.. We were told it was 3 for both practical and written.
Here is the offical word from the state EMS office

"You have 2 years from the end (course completion) of your EMT course. This means if you received course completion on January 1, 2008, you would have until January 31, 2010 to be registered with NREMT. But I caution you on one aspect, your state practicals are only good for one year."
