There is a new Christian movie coming out in the fall of 2008 called Fireproof. It's about a firefighter trying to put his marriage back together. It looks pretty good.

This was a good movie my and kids cried all the way through the show. I think my wife used a whole box of tissues.
Hi Wendy,

I bought the movie at Target. Wanted to make sure I bought it at a secular outlet. :) So glad I had to go back 3 times because they were always selling out! It's a great movie. Hope you are well and really hope to see you in San Diego (Booth 900).

Blessings.
Just saw the Fireproof movie last night. My wife and I concluded Valentines day by watching it together. WOW! Tore my heart out to see myself and my marriage portrayed. 12 years ago my wife and I split up and latter divorced. The scenario portrayed in the movie could have been our story. We both married again and 11 years latter found ourselves divorced again. Now a year latter God brought us back together again and restored us in so many ways. I am so thankful for the Lords forgiveness and healing power. To see my wife by my side again, my family back together again and Gods blessing on our lives is so humbling. We must ever be vigilant to guard our homes and marriages from the attacks of the enemy. They do not come as big things. Just little bits at a time. As the song played in the movie, Its a slow fade........... Its the little things that tear us apart and wear us down.
Dear God help me ever to remember your love and faithfulness as a Father who has given us the "Fireproof" book. His word will keep us from making mistakes that will scar us for life. We have to read it every day not just for 40 days. Thank you Lord for your forgiveness and love that reached down and lifted me up from the mess I had made of my life and restored me. I am truly blessed...............................
I found this movie to be the most uplifting one on the screen in a long while. I had planned on seeing it on DVD. However, my husband, who is also a firefighter/medic, and I got into a huge argument and I was about to leave him for something he had done. I thought it was a huge deal, but he didn't think he had done anything wrong. I called my mother, who is a pastor's wife and has her minister's licence as well, and she said, before I made any decisions, she wanted me to take him and go see the movie first. We went to dinner and then the movie that night. Here we are, not speaking, and the beginning of the moview starts out with their fight, then snowballs into the larger issues.......we just kept looking over at each other, like, is this us????? Do we do this??? It changed us that night. I bought all of the books from the Fireproof series, along with the movie itself 2 weeks ago. I would recommend the movie and the reading to any Christian couple around, and have been recommending it to all I've spoken to that have marital issues. Divorce occurs too much and too easily anymore. This is my second marriage, but we've been married 9 years now, and I want this one to last.
Might I also say, that it is very important to get your families up on Sunday morning and get them to church.
It has been statistically proven that families who pray together, stay together. If God is in the middle of it all, he will maintain your family.

God Bless and Stay Safe!!!
Hey Chief, Now I understand what you mean by your last email. It was really really tough.

I've watched fire proof for the heck of it. My fellow firefighter lend me the DVD tape and watch it alone. I've known fire proof is going on for a while but didn't made an effort to watch it because I thought this is for " couples movie" But I was WRONG. It reaches out for singles as well. Being almost single for life made my life missing and frustrating for looking for someone. I've courted and dated women but I got hurt or hurt them in the process. Maybe it's really me that I've trouble finding someone. The movie, have touched my heart and re-affirm my faith and to wait in the Lord. One day at the time.
this was a very good movie. i now on it on dvd. if you are unsure do take the chance and rent it you wont regret it.
This movie was phenomenal, as far as teaching about the importance of marriage and then relating it back to firefighting with the motto "You never leave your partner behind". Yeah the road gets rough in marriage sometimes and mine got real rough right around the time this movie was released to theaters. I made it a point for my wife and I to get to this movie and it has strengthened our relationship both with each other and with God. We have also shared this with other couples who we knew were struggling with their marriage and hope it has touched them like it's touched us. I hope you all get a chance to watch it, it's worth every penny.
What an awesome film.
I as well as my wife and kids love this movie. We own all 3 movies,Flywheel, Facing the Giants, and Fireproof, and would suggest that if you haven't seen the first 2 take the time to find them and buy them.
My wife and I LOVED the movie also. Our daughter asked what we were watching and she enjoyed it also then she wanted to see other movies like this and when was I going to get them. Fireproof was a excellent movie can't wait to see the others.
i seen this movie it was one of thebest ihae ever seen AWSOME>>>/body>
Saw it twice w/my wife. Great movie. It kind of pinpointed some areas that I have dealt w/before. Thank you Jesus for your loving Grace and Mercy. And my beautiful wife whom I am willing to lay my life down for. I think the area that stung the most was the scene where he was yelling at his wife and getting in her face. I know I've done that once before, never anything physical, but just the plain disrespect and venting my frustration. Man... I wish my wife would have slapped the snot out me like i deserved then. And man, you really feel like the scum of the earth when you've done something like that! I did relate to the lack of understanding that your spouse may have when it comes to being a FF and EMT. People trust you w/their lives and the pressure of knowing that your actions or decisions could change a person(s) life forever is a huge responsibility. I'm only a volunteer, but those of you that do it every day I'm sure have the same feeling. I just thank God that he is with me always. Thank you Father! Well, enough rambling on. I'm glad I found this group. May God bless it and use it for HIS GLORY!! Love ya brothers and sisters.
