My F.D. had it's Centennial back in 1997. Since then I've been to several Centennial celebrations for surrounding F.D's. I was surprised to find out that some area F.D's are only 50 years old or so, some are even younger! Just curious how old everyone else's F.D's are. I'm sure there's some Departments on the east coast that are getting close to their Bi-centennial.

Weiser City Fire Rescue was EST: in 1900. We are in the grate state of IDAHO. We are 110 years old and we still have the first new truck the city bought it is a 1932 HOWE and it stills runs we are looking for a bearing for the pump so we can pump water.
Santa Barbara County Fire Department was organized in 1926, making us 83 years old... When we hit 75 year 8 years ago, we made a big deal out of it and put together special patches and badges for everyone as noted above.

Hi Brian, Whats new and how are you doing? My Dept was started back in 1873 but unfortunately we were not able to have any celebration for it because of the Boro not having any money for something like that and plus we have had a short supply of guys and women. Pretty much the Economy like alot of other places. We sucked it up and just wished we could get funding from Homeland Security for a new 105ft Quint we would have even bought it from KME from a Pennsylvania Company if we could get the funding but Irwin FD in Irwin PA but Our Dept would never stand a chance to get that kind of funding which we need so desperately but that is what happens when you are the little guy in the Fire Service we have been so committed and have busted our tails to always supply the Boro with the best fire protection it can our Quint is old and needs replaced but we never get that kind of grant. But we keep hoping it will happen but we don't look for it to happen . See we are a small Boro but the Main Business District goes right through our Boro and we are surrounded by Two very large Second Class Townships and One First Class Township that can't even afford to staff their own police protection. So we wait and maybe someday we will get a grant to buy a new Rear Mount 105ft Quint. Hughie The 57 House Irwin,PA
Well I am not for sure really. Ummm we got the first fire truck which was a 1912 Ford Model T. So ummmm I am not really for sure on the age of my department. But we got out new department built last year so...
