I'm looking for a traditional looking, lightweight, comfortable helmet. I like the Paul Conway Traditionals, Cairns 880's and the Bullard Traditonals. I have also heard good things about the Ben II's. I want a helmet that doesn't feel as if it's going to bobble off my head. Leathers are completely out of the question. I'm going to be getting bourkes and goggles. If you guys have any experience, comparisons, or opinions it would be much appreciated. Thanks!
My department issues the cairns 1010 its a traditional looking looking helmet, you can order it with bourkes and goggles. the guys who wear them like them, im a leatherhead myself.
I have tried on the Paul Conway Traditional and love the way it fits. I dont like the fit of the 1010's and 1044's. However, Im not sure about the 880's or the Bullards...
I've been a Cairns guy for a long time, to the point that I've bought my own helmets the last three times I've needed them, all Cairns. My department issues bullards, but I don't like the weight or the altitude. The 880 is what I wear now, and I love it. Its a little strange being smaller, but it works great for me, and I adjusted to it quickly. THey're a lower ride on your head if thats what you're looking for, and they weigh less than the others. I'd try them out if you can, and see what you think.
