all the stupid ones
I prefer the term exercise in futility : ) You two are hilarious.
I'm her brother from another mother...

In other words "Now I am become Shiva, Destroyer of Worlds"...
I hate to tell you but, we use to have Juniors in my department and we never had a bit of trouble with them at all. THEY were respectful and did what was asked of them. Maybe every now and again they had to be reminded what they a couldn't do but other then that they were pretty good. Now for you, if you and the rest of the juniors/explorers are upset because of the disrespect you may be getting then maybe you should try showing the senior members here the respect you want. If you give respect to others then they will show you respect. Try it, it actually works.

Like the others here have said if you want to discuss things amongst all of you juniors/explorers then start your own group with invites only then you wont have to worry about the rest of us commenting and hurting any of your feelings.
One thing you have to understand is that, they have more experience then you? they have every right to push you around, but once you get to know them and do what is asked of you. You wont have any problems, also they give alot of criticizism for a reason, thats how life is in the fire department.
I have spoken on this topic in other threads and I will do so again......Some people don't like a winner. Plain and simple.....I figured out at age 13 that I wanted to follow my father into the fire service so at age 15 when I could join the local VFD I did......taking my father and other senior members advice I started training getting my hands on any thing and everything fire service and taking any classes that were avaliable to me. I also earned a bachelors in Fire Science....so at the ripe old age of 20 I was hired as a career firefighter......at the ripe old age of 27 I have 12 years in the fire service am on my second career dept. (left to get closer to home) and am certified @ a very high company officer level within my state as well as instructor level and have attended traing classes all over the nation.....and you know what with all that going for me people still can't see past my age....oh he is 27 he can't know anything.

Never mind the hard work I have put in or the countless times I have proved my worth on the fireground no matter how many times company officers say this guy is top notch....some people still just don't like that fact that I am a young guy......So you know what I do??? Nothing I continue to do my job and don't let the hatters bother me....you can not please everyone so just be nice, train, and do your job. If you do that you should be able to look in the mirror and sleep well at nite.

I will offer up this peice of advice for everyone however....age does not define ability neither does tenure. To quote my favorite coach Joe Gibbs "If you can play....You can play". Experience only keeps you from making the same mistake twice....training and a good plan keeps you from making it the first time.
Mr. Allen

Did you ever think that the reason us "senior members" as you put it run our mouths because when some juniors and explores get on here and think they know it all we think we better step in and tell them that they are either doing something wrong or dangerous.

Yes we have more years in and maybe a little more training and experience so maybe we earned they right to try and fix stupid. Am I saying juniors and explorers are stupid no!!!

But when you have a kid who is still wet behind the ears come on here just to run down senior members I must tell you it just bores the hell out of me!!

Maybe if you kept your eyes and ears open and you mouth shut you just might learn something from us senior members.
AMEN!!!!!!!!
Usually doesn't take long to get to that point around here... lol
Fun thread. I'm just waiting to jump in.
okay this is comeing from a exploerer,

one, your speaking in a really rude manor...

two, they are here to teach us.. because your stupid

and three, shut up...

i can see your new to this website, and your really not making the best first start, these guys have the right to say what they want, it isnt "runing their mouth" its talking from expirence and you should listen to them, it may save your life one day
I wouldn't be surprised if the kid told his chief or left the department, He'll I am not even on a department yet and I know what it's like because I have friends in the business plus some family members.
