i was catching up on some news and saw that there was a rope failure last year that got a LT killed and rope failure was either involved or had a hand in it. whoever sets me straight, understand that i want to know if anyone knows who the vendor of the failed rope was. i understand that the personal ropes were taken out of service because of fraying during testing. i dont know everything but i do know that the rope industry does a good job of self policeing. they have to because as one rope rescue CEO once told me, one bad product failure gives us all a black eye. as i write this, my wife sees me as shit stirring, but i asked her how she would feel if i was killed by a substandard product that could have been prevented by somebody asking a question?
No idea what incident you are referring to at all. The EXO systems are outfitted with Sterling Rope's kevlar rope. This is some really tough rope. I doubt that this was the culprit.
Are you sure you have this straight? Are you confusing this with the story where a some guys jumped out of a building, which prompted FDNY getting escape rigs?
Nothing in the NIOSH database that I can find about this incident.
