Ok, I have seen several posts similar to this and I have seen alot of great replies so I am hoping you all can help me too. My department wants to purchase a new truck within the next few years, the thought right now is to make it a Squad that will be first due for wrecks and technical rescue but also be fully fire suppression capable. Now, I am going to describe the truck that "I" have invisioned and I want some input from those of who who know how a truck can be spec'd. Keep in mind that this is only my imagination working overtime, we have not had an apparatus committee meeting or set a budget. We are a small volunteer unit in a very rural area that has three major highways and an interstate in the 1st due. I just want to know if this truck sounds feesable or if my imagination is running away with me. The look I am going for is similar to the FDNY Squads or the picture included in this post.

our tiller is a truck/heavy rescue and is a Seagrave marauder II... granted we paid 1.1 million for it and it weighs almost 70,000lbs but it is awesome. I have a picture of it on my page. The pros of using the tiller for rescue rather than a pumper includes much more compartment space and therefore the ability to mount all of the rescue equipment we want without sacrificing its ability in its primary role of a truck. With the amkus ultimate system we can run 7 tools at once.
