I was just accepted into the Fire Academy for the Baton Rouge Fire Dept. I start the academy in early Feb. I need to have boots for when I start. Can anyone recommend a good boot? Price range doesnt matter since I will be living in them the next 24 weeks. Comfort, durability...everything matters. Also, does the sizing differ from tennis shoes? Thanks in advance.

My department wears Pro-warringtons 5006s and they can't beat for comfortable fire boots because they fit to your feet although takes a little effort getting them off but that shouldnt matter .
I bought a pair of 5.11 ATAC Shields. Jonathan, Im going through BRFD's academy but I believe we do some things at LSU's facility.
Ah that's cool, well best of luck to ya man. I'm pretty sure just about all FDs in LA do something with LSU whether its on their campus or they come out to yall.

Everyday boots get a pair of Danner Acadia's and for structural boots get Black Diamonds X boot.. the Danner's I wear everyday inside of a jail, concrete pounding all day, these boots hold up, the Diamonds I get about 4-5 years per pair and I'm on my third set, comfortable ....
Me personally i like thorogood boots. but i have heard the new globe is basically like a tennis shoe. reagrdless they will be a hell of alot better than the standard rubber boots
And this is exactly how our leather boots are issued, lace up with the zipper insert.
I would go leather very comfortable.
bunker boot = warrington boots
