Lutan1 what does your department currently use? We currently use the Arizona Vortex. We also have the Larkin frame. The Arizona Vortex is my first choice. We can use it for raising or lowering rescuers into a hole. We use the Vortex for highlines and high directionals. With the vortex it can be configured to whatever set-up you need. I'm interested on Ferno's new "Arachnipod". Let us know what you find out when you train with it...take and be safe.
From what I have been able to dig up, this does not look like it is available anywhere in the states yet. I would like to know what you think when you use it. Ease, weight, etc.
Hi Jeff- they pass along all enquiries to distributors. (Here in Oz, they only sell through distributors, not sure about the USA).
I pick up a second unit tomorrow- I took mine for a demo one week after getting it from Ferno and sold it o nthe spot! Happy about the sale, sad about losing the unit so quick!
I'll be fiddling around with it a bit over the next few weeks- we're providing it and some Rescue Coordinators into a manintenance shutdown over the Christmas period so will be spending a bit of time getting intimate with it!
Will post some pix and other info as I learn more....
I think you're right- they're struggling a bit to keep up with demand here, let alone the rest of the world.
I firmly beleive it will give devices such as the Vortex, Larking Rescue Frame and Ozpod a good run for their money. From what I've experienced so far, it's propably a bit better suited to industrial appliactions as opposed to the Vortex, but not sure yet....
