What kind of HazMat teams are people members of? (Department level, county team, regional team, state team, etc). How large are the teams and how long have they been in existance?

I am a member of the Vermont HazMart Response Team. Our response area is anywhere in the State (and I've definitely been to places I didn't know existed until someone spilled something there!). We have about 25 members from all over the state. Our team has a really good mix of backgrounds (fire, ems, police, environmental, industry, etc.). It works out well because we all bring different strengths and balance each other out. We train as a team one weekend a month and have other training periodically that members attend if they are able. I've been a member of the team since its inception about 13 years ago.
Our team is a county team made up of members from all of the fire department in the county. We have about 30 memebers. We have 2 response trailers, one at the upper end of the county and the other is here at the airprot were I work, so the guys here with me get to train on the trailer alot more than some other memebers. The last few years we have got to travel for some really great training because of grants we have recieved. I have been to TTCI in Peublo,Co 4 times and to Las Vegas once and New Mexico. I have been on the team for 2 years.
I am a member of Tallahassee Fire Dept in Florida we have a 13 county regional team. We have 3 stations and approx 68 people on the hazmat. Our teams is appart of the Regional Domestic Security Task Force 2 in North Florida.
I am a member of the Sonoma County HazMat team, which falls under the Sonoma County Department of Emergency Services. Our team is a combo paid/volunteer team. The paid members are the Inspectors for the county, and the volunteers are generally members from the different fire departments in the county. Our team is about 35 members.

I am also a member of a federal response team called the WMD-DMORT. We are a weapons of mass destruction disaster mortuary team. Our role is two fold, recovery and decontamination. Our team is divided into the recovery and decon teams. I am the medic assigned to the recovery teams. We are based out of Rock Hill, SC and have members throughout the US, although I am the only member of the team from California.
Hi,
We are a volunteer Fire & Rescue Service brigade in regional Western Australia. We do not have a seperate HAZMAT team or department but we are HAZMAT qualified and conduct hazardous materials operations when required.

We have around 20 qualified HAZMAT members within our brigade.
I am a member of the Chagrin/SE HMRT. We cover the eastern portion of Cuyahoga county in NE Ohio. Cleveland cover the middle and two teams cover the west side. We have abot 35 members at this time. We currently cover 28 cities in our area. Our team has been around for about 17 years. I have been a member for over 10.
