I'm guessing your price range is pretty low if your going to buy a truck, what about shipping the truck. I'd have to say that your doing a wonderful thing and this is the best place to start.
it is when I first started 2 years ago it was a small project it has grown . My first container left 3 weeks ago it arrives today to ecuador . The container has fire fighting equipment and medical supplies that was donated from different departments the medical supplies was donated from hearts in motion out of indiana . The first ambulance that the city of chicago donated was put in service last friday the city of salinas ecuador has 300.000 citizens and never had a ambulance they got ther first. Now a town that has 150.000 needs a engine that town does not a firedepartment .
Go to www.agcenterfire.org and look at the 1989 FMC we have for sale. It is fully loaded with equipment. No SCBAs. Contact me at rsmithmfr@yahoo.com . The sale price is 45,000.00 But i believe we could talk to the chief and see what we could do.
All good used fire apparatus websites with some pretty good deals. You're bound to find something. You can also search (used fire apparatus) to find more companies that sell well priced apparatus. Good luck in your search and hope you find something.
Your story seems to be the same story told all over South America and even Mexico. Where the cities refuse to add any money into fire fighting. Reynosa for example has one fire station for 420,000 people.
I will be writing a fema grant to replace our current 1978 Mack 1500 gpm 750 tank , truck in good shape , however we can't get it to pass a DRY pump test for ISO without spending major $$$$ . If we can get this new truck , WE would be honored to donated our current truck . If you need any further please call 615-446-0639- Thanks Joe
