Has anyone seen this yet? Somebody somewhere is putting a lot of time into creating the "Wikipedia" of firefighting. Is anyone here involved with that? If so, how would I go about contributing?

I didn't see that until you posted it, but I love the idea. I don't see a link anywhere to contribute, but it does look like a community web site. I've emailed the administrator, we'll see if I can get any information.
Just got a reply from the administrator. Here were his/her answers:

"The site has a core of instructors that will be continuously uploading information for recruits, the eventual goal is to be a completely free web site that provides the information necessary for someone starting from scratch to be able to pass their Firefighter I & II and EMT-B courses. Once we feel we have achieved this idea, we will provide HazMat and TRT information as well"

"Yes, we are looking for contributors. We have the writers and editors we need, but video and image media are always hard to come by. Right now, for instance, we are looking for video on actual ventilation cuts."

To me, that means "We have backing, we are fully functional, but we need help". I like the idea of a free reference site, we all know recruits have trouble with certain things like tying knots that require repetition. A video is certainly easier to watch than leafing through a textbook.

I hope that helps with your question Marcus :)
Never heard of this before, Thanks though I'll check into it.
i have never heard of it but will check it out
I hadn't heard of this until now. I'll definitely check it out.
Took a quick glance at it. Looks pretty good. Thanks
I spent some time looking at the site tonight, and I think I understand the structure. Their videos are all listed at this one:

The way they're implemented is pretty cool. The flashover and backdraft videos in the Fire Behavior lecture are a good example, I can't wait to see how they present the next series.

This could be very useful to recruits, but I'll be frequently browsing the site to brush up on my knowledge.
Checked this place out again today, looks like they're putting up certification quizzes. I've been talking to the administrator, he needs people but only for video lectures and knowledgable information and thus, does not need me :(
